VC Cup 2026: Results from every round!

The annual Vice Chancellor's Cup (VC Cup) is a fun, high-energy interfaculty competition bringing together students and staff across Adelaide University.

Throughout the competition, teams representing AU colleges, portfolios and campuses are competing across a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports to determine who takes home the highly coveted Vice Chancellor's Cup!


 

EVENT 1: STRAVA RUNNING CHALLENGE

93 staff and students of Adelaide University took part in the first event of the 2026 Vice Chancellor's Cup, the Strava Running Challenge. Using the Strava app, they put on their running shoes and set their best time over a single kilometre between Monday 22 June and Sunday 5 July.

13 colleges and portfolios were represented in the online competition, with participants running not only in South Australia, but also Queensland, Victoria, and as far afield as India, Hawaii, Italy, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

Seven teams had an average best kilometre time below 5 minutes, with Student Experience & Success taking out the crown with an average time of 3 minutes and 58.3 seconds, ahead of the College of Science in second place and the College of Health in third place. The fastest individual time recorded was 2 minutes and 47 seconds by a member of the Academic team.
