VC Cup 2026: Results from every round!

The annual Vice Chancellor's Cup (VC Cup) is a fun, high-energy interfaculty competition bringing together students and staff across Adelaide University.
Throughout the competition, teams representing AU colleges, portfolios and campuses are competing across a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports to determine who takes home the highly coveted Vice Chancellor's Cup!
EVENT 4: volleyball
The fourth event of the 2026 Vice Chancellor’s Cup saw spikes and hits as staff and students from across Adelaide University tried to lead their faculties and portfolios to victory in Volleyball at the Magill Sports Centre.
Representing their college or portfolio, participants competed in a round robin competition with five rounds and a final to determine the final standings and contribute points to the overall VC Cup tally.
The College of Health team 1 went undefeated and took home the points, narrowly edging out the second-place College of Science with the team of College of Engineering & IT rounding out the podium.

EVENT 3: TABLE TENNIS
The third event of the 2026 Vice Chancellor’s Cup saw fast and furious rallies as staff and students from across Adelaide University tried to serve their faculties and portfolios to victory in Table Tennis at the Mawson Lakes Sports Centre.
Representing their college or portfolio, participants competed in a round robin competition with seven rounds to determine the final standings and contribute points to the overall VC Cup tally.
The College of Business and Law took home the spoils, narrowly edging out the second-place College of Education, Behavioural and Social Sciences, with the combined team of First Nations Student Support and Corporate & Office of the VC rounding out the podium.

EVENT 2: BADMINTON
77 staff and students of Adelaide University took part in the first in-person event of the 2026 Vice Chancellor's Cup, Badminton, held on the indoor courts at Pridham Hall on Thursday 6 August.
10 colleges and portfolios were represented with a total of nine teams, including a combined team. They competed in a round robin tournament, facing off against every other team over the course of the event. The final round ended up with the College of Science and the College of Health - both undefeated to that point - squaring off to see who would take home maximum points.
In the end, it was the College of Science who came out on top, bettering their second-place effort in Event 1, the Strava Running Challenge. Strong showings from the College of Health, College of Engineering and IT, Student Experience and Success, College of Business and Law, and the combined team saw them round out the top-six table.

EVENT 1: STRAVA RUNNING CHALLENGE
93 staff and students of Adelaide University took part in the first event of the 2026 Vice Chancellor's Cup, the Strava Running Challenge. Using the Strava app, they put on their running shoes and set their best time over a single kilometre between Monday 22 June and Sunday 5 July.
13 colleges and portfolios were represented in the online competition, with participants running not only in South Australia, but also Queensland, Victoria, and as far afield as India, Hawaii, Italy, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
Seven teams had an average best kilometre time below 5 minutes, with Student Experience & Success taking out the crown with an average time of 3 minutes and 58.3 seconds, ahead of the College of Science in second place and the College of Health in third place. The fastest individual time recorded was 2 minutes and 47 seconds by a member of the Academic team.
