SA Challenge

SA CHALLENGE HAS FINISHED FOR 2025.
INDIVIDUAL SPORT REGISTRATIONS WILL OPEN THROUGHOUT 2026.

SA Challenge is a state-based intervarsity competition endorsed by UniSport, where the focus is on fun and participation - but not without fierce competition from our rival South Australian universities!

Sports vary each year, but there is always a range of ball sports, racket sports, and bat and ball sports to choose from. In 2025, sports included Tennis, Ultimate, Lacrosse, Netball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Basketball, Badminton, and Wheelchair Basketball.

Entry is just $10 per competition which includes a playing shirt.

In 2026, Adelaide University is looking to compete in a revamped SA Challenge competition, with details still to come.

UNISPORT NATIONALS

UNISPORT NATIONALS HAS FINISHED FOR 2025.

UniSport Nationals is the largest multi-sport intervarsity carnival in Australia. The University of Adelaide team represents Adelaide University Sport and Fitness, and the University of Adelaide. Nationals brings together roughly 7,000 student-athletes from 41 universities nationwide, competing across 30 different sports for national titles. More than just a competition, Nationals is a celebration of university spirit, athletic excellence, and social connection.

In 2026, UniSport Nationals will be held in Perth, Western Australia from September 26 to October 3. UniFest, a midweek festival introduced in 2025, provides students with a unique opportunity to connect beyond the field of play. Set against some of Perth’s most iconic backdrops, UniFest offers live music, entertainment, cultural activations, and a vibrant social atmosphere, cementing the Nationals as a truly holistic student experience and something not to be missed.

Sports at Nationals in 2025 included AFL 9's, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Cycling, Dodgeball, Fencing, Football, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kendo, Lacrosse 5s, Lawn Bowls, League 9s, Netball, Oztag, Rowing, Rugby 7s, Sailing, Squash, Surfing, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Tenpin Bowling, Touch, Ultimate, Volleyball, and Water Polo.

 

 

Indigenous Nationals

INDIGENOUS NATIONALS HAS FINISHED FOR 2025.

Indigenous Nationals is a multi-sport intervarsity carnival showcasing Indigenous and Torrens Strait Islander student-athletes from over 30 Australian universities. The University of Adelaide team represents Adelaide University Sport and Fitness, the University of Adelaide and Wirltu Yarlu.

All sports are mixed gender, and whilst there is a fun and social atmosphere around the event, the competition on the field is intense! In 2025, sports included Basketball, Netball, Touch, and Volleyball.

Indigenous Nationals is a great opportunity for First Nations Australians to come together, share stories, and celebrate culture through the medium of sport, with a week of sports and extracurricular activities.


 

NEW BALANCE University basketball League (ubl)

2025 UBL FINALS ARE CURRENTLY UNDERWAY.

Adelaide University will be aiming to compete in the 2026 New Balance University Basketball League Men's and Women's competitions. If you are going to be studying at Adelaide University and are interested in playing for the AU Waatu in 2026, please fill in our expression of interest to be kept up-to-date.

University Tennis League (utl)

UTL HAS FINISHED FOR 2025.
EOI OPEN FOR 2026.

Adelaide University will be aiming to compete in the 2026 University Tennis League Men's and Women's competitions. If you are going to be studying at Adelaide University and are interested in playing UTL in 2026, please fill in our expression of interest to be kept up-to-date.

The UTL is a competitive event bringing together universities from across Australia to compete in mixed tennis tournaments. The 2025 UTL is planned for Semester 2 and will consist of qualifying fixtures played within four regions (north, east, south and west) with the top team in each region progressing to finals.
