what is the uniroos?

The Australian UniRoos is the team identity for all UniSport high performance teams representing Australia at either a World University Championship, Summer or Winter Universiade. Australia's first Summer Universiade was in Tokyo, Japan in 1967 and has competed in all but one Summer Universiade since.

The Summer Universiade continues to be a springboard for athletes to a successful international sporting career. Many UniRoos alum have progressed to become World, Commonwealth and/ore Olympic champions including: Cate Campbell (swimming), Steve Hooker (athletics), Brooke Hanson (swimming), and Catherine Skinner (shootoing), to name a few.
