sports week returns for 2025

Sports Week is a fun, high-energy interfaculty competition bringing together students and staff across the University of Adelaide. Each day features a new team activity, with points tallied across the week to determine who takes home the Sports Week Shield.

The week finishes with the Vice-Chanellor’s Cup – a 4 x 800m relay known as 'the race that stops the campus'. The VC Cup is now in its 17th year and stands as the ultimate symbol of UoA's sporting spirit.

How it works:

  • Each Faculty/Division must have a team competing every day.
  • Team members can be the same people each day, or you can rotate different members from your Faculty/Division.
  • If your Faculty/Division doesn’t compete on a day, it will count as a forfeit and no points will be awarded.
  • Everyone who plays will receive a team t-shirt.
  • Prizes and medals will be awarded to the winners of each daily event.
  • Registering your interest means you’ll be considered for the team, but it doesn’t guarantee you a spot.
