Host your first Pride Round this summer with $1000 funding from Pride Cup & Movember
Published Fri 05 Sep 2025
Community sporting clubs are being invited to host their first Pride Cup event this summer, with up to $1000 in funding available through a new partnership between Pride Cup and Movember. Applications for the 2025/2026 season are now open and will be assessed on a rolling basis.
The initiative is designed to make men’s competitions more inclusive, safe, and welcoming by reducing homophobic behaviour in sport.
While many clubs first host Pride Games through their women’s teams, this project aims to shift the trend by directly supporting 15 men’s competition clubs across Australia to stage their first Pride Cup.
Successful applicants will receive:
-
Up to $1000 Club Grant to cover event costs such as rainbow-themed uniforms, socks, or guest speakers (priority given to reusable uniforms).
-
LGBTIQ+ Inclusion Education, with both participating teams attending a free session to equip players with tools to challenge discrimination.
-
Game Day Support, including access to expert guidance and an organiser handbook.
-
Event Promotion across Pride Cup’s website and social media channels.
Already in 2025, University of Adelaide sporting clubs including the Adelaide University Soccer Club, Adelaide University Hockey Club, and Adelaide University Rugby Sharks have held successful Pride Rounds, demonstrating their commitment to inclusive sporting spaces and improved mental health.
Pride Cup has helped more than 1,000 sporting clubs across Australia celebrate inclusion. Movember aims to improve men’s health and wellbeing by challenging systems and behaviours that isolate or exclude.
Clubs can submit an application now, and will receive tailored support throughout their inclusion journey.
