SA Challenge 2026: Results from every round!

SA Challenge is a state-based Intervarsity competition endorsed by UniSport, where the focus is on fun and participation - but not without fierce competition from rival South Australian universities Flinders University and Torrens University!

 


 

EVENT 8: TABLE TENNIS

It came down to the final game of the final event to determine the 2026 SA Challenge champions, with Adelaide University and Flinders University fighting it out with courage and intensity right to the final point was scored.

Table Tennis at Pridham Hall was the setting, with four AU teams matching up against cross-town rivals Flinders and invitational entrant Torrens University - Team AU taking the win in the final against Flinders.

EVENT 7: VOLLEYBALL

The dramatic 2026 SA Challenge is all tied up heading into the final event of the year after Adelaide University defeated Flinders University in Volleyball at Pridham Hall. The victory made it three wins apiece, with the overall winning team to be determined after the Table Tennis tournament concludes on Friday 22 May.

EVENT 6: WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL

Flinders made in back-to-back wins and edged ahead in the overall standings with their third trophy of the 2026 campaign, beating Adelaide University in Wheelchair Basketball. Many of the students were trying out their first inclusive sport offering, and all agreed that it was a good opportunity to do something different and learn new skills while having fun.

EVENT 5: BASKETBALL

Two Adelaide University teams took on students from both Flinders University and Torrens University in the first event back from an extended mid-semester break, with a round robin tournament used to determine finals spots. It was Flinders who came out victors, beating AU in a fast, frenetic final that certainly lived up to expectations.

EVENT 4: NETBALL 5S

It was an all-Adelaide University affair in the final of the Netball 5s, the fourth event held during the 2026 SA Challenge. AU Blue and AU Purple met in the final with AU Blue coming away with the victory, giving Adelaide University their second shield of the competition.

EVENT 3: BADMINTON

The indoor courts at Pridham Hall on the Adelaide University City West Campus saw fast and frenetic action on Friday 27 March with Badminton, and we were thrilled to welcome not only Flinders University but also our good friends at Torrens University.

Adelaide University fielded four teams on the day, Flinders University two, and Torrens University one. In the end, it was AU Purple who came out triumphant with a win over Flinders Uni Yellow - Adelaide University taking home their first shield of the 2026 competition and levelling it at one apiece with Flinders.

EVENT 2: LACROSSE 5s

Intervarsity competition at Adelaide University officially kicked off on Friday 20 March with Lacrosse 5s, held on a beautiful afternoon at the picturesque fields of Park 10 in North Adelaide. And while our rivals Flinders University won 21-13, it was a fierce and friendly competition where friendships were made and connections were built. Congratulations to the first IV reps at AU - this is just the beginning.

EVENT 1: ULTIMATE

Unfortunately the first event of SA Challenge 2026 was cancelled, as only Adelaide University was able to field a team.
