Sailing Club off to a red hot start in 2022

Adelaide University Sailing Club has enjoyed a stellar start to the year, with the club enjoying two wins and a second place finish across three races.

Commodore Blake Lawrenson was full of praise when asked about the results, saying "the Flag Officers, club and everyone involved are extremely proud of our achievements so far and cannot wait to see how our season progresses."

A win in Race 8 of the Haese Marine One Design Series kicked off the achievements for 2022, with the club also finishing 1st in the Port Vincent leg of the King of the Gulf Regatta. Race 4 of the Bravo Sails Women Series also saw the club take out 2nd place in their debut race, which is a sign of great things to come for the team.

Blake also highlighted the achievements of individual members, with Stuart De Poi and Alex Mulders recently racing in the 2021 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. While other members Charlie Ryan-Kane and Sophie Davidson participated in the Port Lincoln Regatta last week.

Despite the interruptions of COVID-19, the Adelaide University Sailing Club has over 20 members and are gearing up to expand of the next few years. The club is also looking to travel to the Europe in July for the United Kingdom Regatta.
