Squad announced for 2026 Indigenous Nationals

Published Tue 02 Jun 2026

Congratulations to the squad of student-athletes, 16 of whom will represent Tirkangkaku / Adelaide University at the UniSport Indigenous Nationals on Awabakal & Worimi Country (Newcastle, NSW) from June 29 to July 3.

Captained by Temaana Sanderson-Bromley (Bachelor of Science, Marine and Wildlife Conservation) and Tashani Wyatt (Bachelor of Arts, Aboriginal Studies) for the second year running, our teams will compete in Basketball, Netball, Touch Football and Volleyball against more than 30 opposition universities throughout the week-long event.

In addition to sport, Indigenous Nationals provides students with the opportunity to connect with mob, attend mixers and concerts, and engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses at the Mob Markets.

In 2026, Indigenous Nationals celebrates its 30th anniversary, having grown into the largest and most celebrated sporting carnival for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student athletes.
