READ ABOUT OUR 2026 INDIGENOUS NATIONALS SQUAD

Indigenous Nationals is a multi-sport intervarsity event showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander athletes from over 30 Australian universities. The Adelaide University team is a collaboration between Adelaide University Sport and Fitness and Adelaide University First Nations Student Support. In addition to First Nations students, up to two First Nations staff members can compete as part of the team.

All sports are mixed gender, and whilst there is a fun and social atmosphere around the event, the competition on the field is deadly! In 2025, sports included Basketball, Netball, Touch, and Volleyball, and the University of Adelaide finished 8th out of 32 teams. Indigenous Nationals is a great opportunity for First Nations Peoples to come together, share stories, connect with mob and celebrate culture through the medium of sport, with a week of sports and extracurricular activities.
