The 2026 Adelaide University Sport First Nations Outstanding Achievement in Sport Award recognises the outstanding achievements a First Nations student athlete, volunteer or administrator has achived on or off the field in 2026.

To be eligible an athlete must,

  • Be enrolled at Adelaide University at the time of their achievement (enrolled in the same calendar year, either prior to or during the competition)
  • Sporting results only considered if they were achieved in the past 12 months (from 9th October 2025 to October 9th 2026)
  • Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (via AU enrolment)
  • Display good sportspersonship throughout the competition.
  • Must have achieved success at national or international level of competition, or selection in a national team or development squad at the highest possible level of their chosen sport. 

Nominees may also have contributed off field through

  • A significant contribution through roles such as coaching, officiating, administration, volunteering, mentoring, advocacy or other support roles.
  • Community Leadership: Demonstrating outstanding leadership and a positive influence within the sporting community, clubs or organisation.
  • Commitment and going above and beyond: Consistently demonstrating initiative, dedication and a willingness to go above and beyond what is expected to support others.
  • Sustained Contribution and Longevity: Demonstrating a long-standing and sustained commitment to the sport, with contributions that have made a meaningful difference over time.

Nominations are sought from Clubs, National Sporting Organsiations, State Sporting Organisations and AU Staff.
