The "Club of the Year" Awards is “to recognise clubs with strong off field management”.

Announcement and presentation of recipients of the The Jessop Shield & The Bennett Shield will be made at the 2024 Blues Awards, Tuesday 29 October 2024.
 

CRITERIA FOR THE AWARD

There will be two categories for the Clubs of the Year.

Club of the Year - The Jessop Shield 

Is awarded to a club with less than 50 members which we consider to be an “ideal” club. It is an honour that all affiliated clubs should strive for and winning clubs are awarded with a $1,000 financial incentive towards a club project. A perpetual shield is presented in recognition of Charles Jessop, one of the first life members. 

Club of the Year - The Bennett Shield 

Is awarded to a club with more than 50 members which we consider to be an “ideal” club. It is an honour that all affiliated clubs should strive for and winning clubs are awarded with a $1,000 financial incentive towards a particular club project. A perpetual shield is presented in recognition of Richard Bennett, one of the first life members. 

Applications will be assessed across three key areas:

  • Governance - club governance & compliance, stakeholder relationships, training and development
  • Membership & Culture - club culture, member engagement, volunteer management, club promotion, welcoming and inclusiveness
  • Events & Achievements - on campus and community presence, on and off field club and member key achievements and successes

 

The Adelaide University Sport Board will make the final decision on the award winners.

Only one nomination/sport will be accepted for the award category.

 

NOMINATIONS MUST BE

  1. Completed online
  2. Received by AUSF within the application period, by the closing date/time - 11.59 pm Friday 4 October 2024.
  3. Submitted with all support documentation required.
