Published Fri 20 Mar 2026

As female athletes and teams across Australian sport continue to make history with record crowds, notable achievements, and rising participation, Adelaide University Sport and Fitness continue the vital conversation around supporting progress, overcoming challenges, and improving the future of Australian women's sport at the 6th Annual Women in Sport Brunch.
Presented in partnership with Sport SA and held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 27 March, more than 300 attendees at the event will hear from keynote speaker Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, the first female captain of the Adelaide University Boat Club in its 103-year history during the 1984/85 season.
Throughout the last 12 months, sports fans around the country have continued to support the growth of women's sport - with more than 380,000 fans attending the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season, and more than 60,000 people setting an AFC Women's Asian Cup attendance record for the group match between Australia and South Korea, only one week ago at Stadium Australia.
Guest speaker Chloe Dalton OAM is one of Australia's elite triple-sport athletes and a gold medallist with the Australian Rugby 7s team at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016. She has also played in the AFLW and WNBL leagues and is founder of The [Female] Athlete Project.
Hosted by Ali Clarke who will also facilitate a panel discussion with Adelaide Thunderbirds co-captain Georgie Horjus, Adelaide Crows double premiership player Eloise Jones, and Indigenous NBL1 Adelaide University student Alice Sabine. Their experiences across elite sport, international events, and student participation provides a platform for the powerful conversations and meaningful change that have come to be synonymous with the Women in Sport Brunch.
"As we mark six years of our Women in Sport Brunch, it reflects our commitment to elevating women in sport across leadership, visibility and influence," said Adelaide University Sport and Fitness CEO Michelle Wilson. "Supporting women in sport isn’t optional - it’s essential, and this event is about putting that into action."
