National Volunteer Week 2025 (19–25 May) kicks off today! This week, Adelaide University Sport & Fitness is celebrating the people who power our 40 AU Sport clubs – the volunteers. This year’s National Volunteer Week theme is ‘Connecting Communities’, highlighting the power of volunteering to bring people together. Few people embody that spirit more than Sophia Costello.

Game On! Announcing the 2025 AU Waatu Squads

Forty-three students took part in two basketball trials in April, all aiming for a place on the University of Adelaide’s AU Waatu men’s and women’s teams competing in the 2025 New Balance University Basketball League (UBL). The strong turnout has made for a competitive selection process, with coaches now finalising the squads.

From Crash to Comeback - Olivia Eyes Success at UniSport Nationals Triathlon

University of Adelaide student Olivia Bittner, is preparing to take on the sprint triathlon at this year’s UniSport National Triathlon event in Woolongong NSW from 26-27 April, where she’ll compete in a 750m swim, 20km cycle, and 5km run. A passionate and determined athlete, Olivia is excited to represent the University of Adelaide on the national stage.

As the academic year wraps up, over 170 guests enjoyed a wonderful evening at the 116th Annual Blues Awards on Tuesday, October 29, at the National Wine Centre, celebrating the remarkable achievements of our AU Sport clubs and athletes. We proudly awarded three exceptional AU Sport clubs as 'Clubs of the Year,' while also awarding, Service to AU Sport, Volunteer of the Year, and Coach of the Year (Elite & Development).
